On February 11, a bright museum event will take place in the Historical Building Quarter of Petrozavodsk - "Art Winter in the Old City". According to tradition, a varied program awaits guests of the holiday - from groovy games, exhibitions and outdoor performances to master classes, interactive tours and unusual workshops in hospitable museum buildings. This was announced by the Museum-Reserve "Kizhi" on its website.
“We start preparing for the holiday right now! We invite you to take part in the competition "Fashionable warmth". The contestants will have to make a knitted or felted item of clothing, interior, toy, decoration or accessory in the theme of the Russian North with their own hands. The best works will be presented at the Art Winter in the Old City festival on February 11, and we will award their authors,” the museum noted.
The winners of the competition will have a trip to the protected island of Kizhi in 2023.
At lectures during the festival, visitors will learn about winter fashion, the "cabbage principle" and how to stay warm as a tourist in the north.
Guests of Art-Winter will attend workshops on blacksmithing and winter decorations, play wooden Tetris, visit a carpentry workshop, compete in Kizhi-curling, and drink Kizhi tea from a samovar.
