The official website of the Mayor of Moscow has announced that the capital will become part of the national tourist route "Golden Ring". It is often from Moscow that tourists begin their journeys to the ancient cities of the ring. And it was from the capital that the history of this route began.
In 1967, a series of articles titled "Golden Ring" by art historian Yuri Bychkov was published in the Soviet Culture newspaper. He embarked on a journey from Moscow to neighboring regions. In 2027, the route, which unites Sergiev Posad, Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov the Great, Yaroslavl, Kostroma, Ivanovo, Suzdal, and Vladimir, will celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Now, Moscow, Moscow Region, Vladimir Region, Ivanovo Region, Kostroma Region, and Yaroslavl Region are part of the "Golden Ring" of Russia. All these regions have signed an agreement on cooperation to develop the famous route. Together, they will work on new travel scenarios, conduct joint research and information tours, and facilitate the exchange of experience between museums, hotels, restaurants, and other tourism service providers.
The statement notes that more than 40% of Moscow residents, as part of their travels within Russia, visit the cities of the Golden Ring. The national tourist route should expand the joint offer and increase the exchange of tourist flows.
The Russpass portal already has a guide to this famous route. Mostourism has proposed this tourist service as a platform for promoting other travel options in the regions of the Golden Ring. Today, the platform offers about 13,000 offers for all six regions that have signed the agreement.
