The official website of the mayor of the capital reported that Moscow remains one of the most visited regions of the country by tourists. According to the estimates of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia, it ranks second in the number of travelers, second only to the Krasnodar Territory. St. Petersburg is in third place.
According to experts, about 10 million tourists will go to the Krasnodar Territory this summer, and the same number will go to Moscow and St. Petersburg together.
"Experts expect 6.4 million travelers to visit the capital before the beginning of autumn. This is several hundred thousand more than last summer," the report says.
In total, more than 35 million people stayed in the country's hotels in the first six months. At the same time, the load of Moscow hotels during peak summer and holidays exceeded 70%.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
