More than 2,000 people visited the exhibition "History of the Winter Olympic Games in artifacts: from the collection of Vladimir Potanin"

It was successfully held in the cultural and ethnographic center "My Russia" in the resort "Rosa Khutor" in Sochi. The exhibition was timed to coincide with the XXIV Olympic Winter Games and the XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing, as well as the eighth anniversary of the XXII Olympic Winter Games and the XI Paralympic Games in Sochi. The exposition was created on the basis of Olympic artifacts included in the collection of the founder of the Interros company, philanthropist Vladimir Potanin. Visitors to the exhibition were able to see more than 100 exhibits: authentic award, commemorative medals and other artifacts of all Winter Olympic Games, starting from the first Games held in Chamonix (France) in 1924.

The Olympic collection of Vladimir Potanin is managed by the Russian International Olympic University (RIOU).

Our university is a conductor of the values ​​of Olympism, so the importance of the exhibition of Olympic artifacts from the collection of Vladimir Potanin cannot be overestimated. Thanks to our partners from the Interros and Rosa Khutor companies, as well as the administration of Sochi, we were able to combine exhibits with a hundred-year history and a grateful interested audience, especially the younger generation, in one place," said Lev Belousov, RIOU Rector.

The guests of honor of the exhibition were famous Russian athletes - champions of the Summer and Winter Olympic Games: Alexei Kasatonov (hockey), Vladimir Myshkin (hockey), Daria Shkurikhina (rhythmic gymnastics) and others. Excursion support of the exhibition was carried out by professional guides.

The exhibition "History of the Winter Olympic Games in artifacts: from the collection of Vladimir Potanin" was visited by over 2,000 people - residents of Sochi and guests of the Olympic capital from different regions of Russia. With the assistance of the Sochi administration, the Rosa Khutor resort and RIOU, more than 650 schoolchildren from 17 educational institutions of the city saw the exposition.

In parallel with the exposition in Sochi, the participants and guests of the XXIV Olympic and XIII Paralympic Winter Games in Beijing had an opportunity to get acquainted with the artifacts of Vladimir Potanin's "winter" collection. In Beijing, the exhibition was held in an interactive format through the slogan “The history of sports in awards and artifacts. Look at the awards, touch the history of victories!” by posting a special video on various digital platforms and media. This activity was included in the Cultural Program of the Beijing Games.

From February 2 to March 13, a video with artifacts from the collection was shown in eight provinces, 14 cities, and 30 cultural venues across the country. The video was watched by 1,180,000 people. It was also posted on the website of the Organizing Committee of the Games in Beijing and on the platform of the national cable television network Fuxiyun. In total, over 280 thousand people watched it online.
