The Metropolitan Museum of art in New York reopened to the public after a long interruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

In addition to wearing protective masks and keeping a distance, visitors who have their body temperature measured at the entrance, are required to book time to view the exhibition of one of the most visited museums in the world.

At the same time, the number of visitors should not exceed 25% of the maximum capacity of the premises. If in the pre-crisis period attendance reached 30,000-40,000 people on Saturdays, now it is limited to 7,000-10,000.

Due to the forced closure of the Museum, the administration had to sharply reduce costs and say goodbye to almost 20% of its 2,000 employees.

After a record number of 23,600 people died in New York from COVID-19, the city authorities sharply increased measures to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
