The press service of the Yasnaya Polyana Estate Museum reported that until December 31, the protection of coniferous plantations in the forest park area of the Yasnaya Polyana reserve will be strengthened. The first fir trees were planted during the life of Leo Tolstoy in 1878-1881 in the southwestern part of the estate at the confluence of the Kochak River into the Funnel. In the same place here, on July 22, 1910, the last will of the writer was signed.
"A stationary post will be organized on the site of the Christmas Tree under the Grumant, where museum staff will be on duty. Non-stationary posts will appear on the sites of "Christmas trees at the Podkapustnik", "Christmas trees at the well", "Christmas trees beyond the Chepyzh"," the message says.
"Christmas trees for Chepyzh" appeared in 1889-1891 on the initiative of the writer's wife Sophia Andreevna Tolstoy. Some of the plantings were made according to the usual scheme, the other part received a very original shape: fir trees and oaks were planted wedge into wedge. The writer's favorite bench is also located here.
The "Christmas trees at the well" were planted in the early twentieth century. In the 1970s and 90s, this site was restored and supplemented with young fir trees.
