This conclusion was reached by the participants of the international scientific-practical conference "The Universe of the Polar Bear" in Anadyr.

During the event, the participants discussed the results of scientific studies of the Chukchi-Alaska population of this animal.

In particular, the experts reviewed the existing personal protective equipment for residents of settlements where it is possible to meet a person and a polar bear. The need to improve the means of protection was noted. This proposal will be submitted to the Federation Council for consideration.

In addition, the conference participants discussed the work of the "Bear Patrols" in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, and also summed up the results of research on the coast of the Chukchi Sea and Wrangel Island.

This year, the "white bear census" was conducted for the first time using unmanned aerial vehicles. Thanks to high-resolution photographs, the researchers obtained data on the habitats of polar bears, the ecological state of the coast, and objects of accumulated environmental damage.

The resolution on the results of the conference will include all the results of the work of experts, as well as practical proposals from the participants.
