The traditional Lemon Festival will be held in the French city of Menton from February 15 to March 2. Every year, this event attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. They all come to admire the giant sculptures made of lemons and oranges, as well as to take part in the festivities.

This year's theme is "A Journey to the Stars". It is a tribute to astronaut Thomas Pesquet, his achievements and his стремление to space. The organizers hope that the guests of the holiday will be inspired by the space theme and will also dream of discovering new horizons.

Giant sculptures made of citrus fruits will be erected in the city center. To create them, lemons and oranges are tied with special rubber bands. In total, about a million rubber bands and more than 100 tons of fruit are used for the compositions every year. At night, the lights come on, and the sculptures are transformed, turning the space into "Gardens of Light". As a rule, lemons from Menton, which are considered a delicacy, are not used to create the compositions. Instead, citrus fruits are brought to the city from other countries, which are sold among local residents and tourists after the completion of the festive events.

The festival program includes colorful "Golden Fruit" parades, performances by brass bands and folk groups. Platforms with figures made of lemons, accompanied by artists, acrobats and clowns, drive through the streets of the city. The show ends with a magnificent fireworks display. Those who wish can also watch night parades, visit a craft fair or an orchid exhibition. In addition, during the festival days, excursions, master classes and tastings will be held.

The Lemon Festival in Menton was established in 1934. This event can compete in зрелищности with the best carnivals in the world. Back in the 19th century, Menton was the lemon capital of Europe. Now this citrus is the symbol of the city.
