The press service of the United Directorate of the Sayano-Shushensky Reserve and the Shushensky Bor National Park has reported that a pack of eight wolves was recorded in the park's Mountain Cluster. The animals were captured on a camera trap. In the video, they appear one by one in front of the camera before disappearing into the forest.

Previously, scientists had not recorded such large groups in the national park. Typically, the size of a wolf family pack is around five individuals. Nevertheless, the wolf is a common species in the Mountain Cluster of the Shushensky Bor. These animals play a key role in maintaining the balance of the ecosystem. They regulate the population of other animal species, contributing to the preservation of biodiversity.

Wolves live in packs, which include parents, current year's pups, and sometimes pups from the previous litter. As the pups grow older, they leave the pack, although they may continue to maintain family ties. The female is the foundation of the family. Wolves are monogamous and form lifelong pairs.

The Shushensky Bor National Park is a unique natural complex that is home to a variety of animals, including rare and predatory species. Badgers, hares, foxes, squirrels, minks, roe deer, and other animals live here. Rare species can also be found.
