The press service of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Tourism and Sports announced the introduction of a new visa type - Neo Nomad. This visa is intended for so-called modern nomads, foreign tourists who combine remote work with travel. These can be representatives of various professions and fields of activity: programmers, marketers, designers, and other specialists. This program has gained popularity worldwide after the coronavirus pandemic and is successfully implemented in many countries.
To obtain a Neo Nomad visa, a foreign citizen must demonstrate a stable income of at least $3,000 USD outside of Kazakhstan. Foreign applicants will also need to have health insurance and a police clearance certificate.
The modern nomad visa will allow tourists to stay in Kazakhstan for up to one year while remaining employed by their foreign companies. It is expected that the introduction of this visa type will bring economic benefits to Kazakhstan. Foreigners who use Neo Nomad will live and spend money in Kazakhstan without taking jobs in the local labor market.
The message notes that Astana and Almaty are already among the top 150 cities attractive to modern nomads.
