Experts from the Kamchatka branch of the FITs Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences have discovered signs of an impending eruption of the Bezymyanny volcano.
Thus, for several nights, the summit of the volcano was visible in the camera frames, which indicates a very high temperature of the crater. The volcano's tremor is also recorded - dozens of earthquakes have already occurred on it in recent days. This was reported by the Kamchatka Vremya news agency.
"These are signs of an impending eruption. However, based on them, it is difficult to give an exact forecast of which day the eruption will begin. We can assume that this will happen within a month," the publication quotes the director of the branch, Danila Chebrov.
As the agency notes, Bezymyanny is one of the most active volcanoes in the world. Its last eruption occurred last summer.
And Bezymyanny gained wide fame after the eruption on March 30, 1956. Then the top of the volcano exploded and a huge mass of rocks and ash was thrown into the air.
"The blast wave broke trees at a distance of up to 18 kilometers from the volcano. The height of Bezymyanny as a result of the explosion decreased by more than 200 meters, and a huge crater 700 meters deep and 1.3 by 2.8 kilometers in size formed at the top. Since then, a new lava dome has been growing in the crater," the news agency reports.
