The Fork table booking platform named the three European countries that account for the largest number of reservations.
Most often, users of the platform booked seats in Italian restaurants (29%). Spain took the second place in terms of the quality and cost of the menu in gastronomic establishments (22%), and France was only in third (20%).
At the same time, the share of Italians coming to France on vacation accounts for the largest number - 17% of restaurant reservations.
Among European cities included in the top list in terms of the number of restaurants visited were Paris (8%), Barcelona (5%) and Lisbon (5%).
In general, in restaurants in European countries, according to The Fork, the number of seat bookings in July-August increased by 11% compared to the same period in 2021 and was about 3% higher than in 2019.
The Fork database has about 60,000 restaurants in France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland, Sweden, Turkey, Denmark, Portugal, Brazil and Australia.
