Sergey Bachin, Director of the Vasta Discovery Company, spoke about this at a meeting on the development of eco-tourism.
The event chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko was attended by Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Alexander Kozlov, Deputy Head of Administration of the Kuban Alexander Ruppel and General Director of the Corporation "Tourism.RF" Sergey Sukhanov, as well as heads of Sochi nature protection zones of federal significance, representatives of the Agency for Environmental Initiatives and Rostourism and others.
«During the Olympic project, the Rosa Khutor resort was the one that met environmental standards. The green standards that were then used should be included in all projects in protected areas. These principles are also supported by the Corporation Tourism of the Russian Federation,» Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized.
The new Vasta Valley resort will be a logical continuation of the country's largest resort, Rosa Khutor. The main investor of the project is Interros company. The number of rooms will exceed 3,000 rooms, the length of the mountain trails will be 80 kilometers.
«In addition to ski holidays, we place great emphasis on balneology, sanatorium holidays and nature tourism. There are quite a lot of mineral springs, narzans in this place,» stressed the head of Vasta Discovery Sergey Bachin.
The creation of a new resort will increase the tourist flow to the mountains of Sochi by one and a half million tourists a year. It will create 4,000 jobs, and tax payments will exceed five billion rubles a year.
«In the context of unprecedented sanctions pressure on the Russian economy, this project will be a powerful stimulus for socio-economic growth, both municipal and for the whole country,» said Sergey Bachin.
The Vasta Valley project in Sochi will be implemented over the next seven years.
