Inbound tourists, according to Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), the estimated number of international travelers to Japan in June 2021 was about 9,300, +262.6% compared to June of 2020, and -99.7% compared to 2019.
Looking at the number of international travelers to Japan by country/region in June 2021, China had the highest number of visitors for five months in a row at 2,000, followed by the U.S. at 1,200.
Outbound Japanese tourists, according to preliminary figures from the Immigration Service Agency of Japan, the number of Japanese overseas travelers in June 2021 accounted for 30,666, +187.6% compared to June of 2020, and -98.0% compared to 2019.
