The Russian Union of Travel Industry (RST) has announced that the international student congress "The Future of Tourism - The Tourism of the Future" will take place on September 27th. This online platform will facilitate dialogue between students and leading tourism experts from Russia and worldwide.
"Over 17,000 students from 100 universities and secondary specialized educational institutions in Russia and the CIS countries are expected to participate in the Congress. The goal of this global event is to popularize and enhance the prestige of tourism professions," the statement reads.
Key topics to be discussed at the congress include the future of tourism and international tourism integration within the CIS, the next generation of tour guides, agritourism in Russia, digitalization in tourism, and tourism as a new economic driver.
"The Congress is timed to coincide with World Tourism Day and aims to educate a new generation of tourists who possess knowledge of domestic and world culture, history, who treat natural heritage with care, and who lead an active and healthy lifestyle," the RST noted.
The congress will feature speeches by Russian and international tourism leaders, representatives of ministries and agencies, professional associations, leading educational institutions, as well as students, masters, and doctoral candidates.
During the Congress, an international competition of student projects for the development of tourism in Russia and the CIS countries will be launched.
