The press service of the governor and government of the region reported that an international diving center will soon be opened on Moneron Island, 43 km off the southwestern coast of Sakhalin. Certified instructors will train and accompany fans of underwater travel.

The first tourist divers will be able to visit the center in mid-June. Diving is expected to be not only enjoyable and safe, but also educational.

The authorities of the region also plan to launch a one-day tour to Moneron for local residents so that they can try their hand at diving and get acquainted with the underwater world of the island.
