The press service of "Arkaim" reported that on May 1, it is planned to open an exhibition dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the archaeologist, the founder of the museum-reserve, Professor Gennady Zdanovich. The exhibition will tell how the museum complex itself was created. In addition, visitors will be able to get acquainted with the history of the study of the monument of the Arkaim settlement and the Sintashta archaeological culture.
On May 20 "Arkaim" will join the worldwide action "Night of Museums". The guests of the museum-reserve will have an interesting program with an educational quest, a concert and lectures by leading archaeologists.
In early July, the folklore and ethnographic festival of the Eurasian peoples "Arkaim" will be held. It will allow tourists to touch the traditional rituals of the multinational region of the Southern Urals, learn more about songs, costumes and crafts.
On July 29, the festival of historical reconstruction "The Flame of Arkaim" will take place, which will take its guests hundreds of years back. This year the event will be dedicated to the era of nomads: from the tribes of the early Iron Age and up to the 19th century. Local culture will be presented in the context of world history. The program of the festival includes the reconstruction of scenes of war and peace, craft workshops. The main event will be the ignition of the Flame of Arkaim.
The busy summer season will end with the festival of traditional cuisine of the peoples of the Southern Urals "Krynka", which will be held in Arkaim on August 12. It will bring together connoisseurs of old recipes and connoisseurs of folk culture. Representatives of different peoples of the region will bring national dishes prepared according to old recipes passed down in families from generation to generation. The most striking part of the festival will be the reconstruction of the Cossack life against the backdrop of the museum "House and Estate of the Orenburg Cossack".
