The press service of the national park "Land of the Leopard" announced the conclusion of an agreement with hunting farms located along the perimeter of the Ussuri Reserve. Employees of the Primorsky Hunting Supervision will take a direct part in monitoring activities and monitor compliance with environmental legislation around the perimeter of the reserve. They will also monitor the movements of the Far Eastern leopards.

The Ussuriysky Reserve is part of the historical range of the red-book Far Eastern leopard. Currently, the first-ever project for the reintroduction of the Far Eastern leopard is being implemented here, within the framework of which several wild cats are relocated to the territory of the reserve from the national park "Land of the Leopard".

"Wild cats do not know borders, so monitoring of spotted pioneers only on the territory of the reserve is not enough. The cooperation agreement with several hunting farms at once initiates joining efforts to monitor potential leopard habitats in the territories of hunting farms adjacent to the Ussuri Nature Reserve," the message says.

Three adult leopards have already been released into the territory of the Ussuri Reserve. These are female Leo 284F, male Leo 270M and young male Leo 260M. Their movements are monitored using satellite collars.
