The promotion of the balneological industry in the Kamchatka Territory was discussed at the business forum "Far East - Winter of Discoveries", which was held in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

This was reported by the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV) on its website.

According to Pavel Volkov, Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic, Kamchatka is the environment that will heal you, whether you like it or not.

“We have a complete set of tools that help develop and create new resorts in the Far East, including Kamchatka, these are priority development areas, the free port of Vladivostok, and other government support tools. It is necessary that business, using state support, create projects aimed at treating the inhabitants of the region using natural wealth and resources,” Volkov said in the message.

Marina Yakutova, the director of the KRDV Kamchatka, JSC "Corporation for the Development of the Kamchatka Territory", spoke about the wellness site of the territory of advanced development "Kamchatka" - SEC "Zelenovskie ozerki", where the thermal water deposit is located.

“In our opinion, Zelenovskie Ozerki should become the focus of projects that will cultivate health spa tourism. There are 740 hectares of land suitable for the construction of modern sanatoriums and spa centers, recreation centers, hotels and glampings, ”Yakutova’s words are quoted in the message.

She noted that currently 13 residents of the Kamchatka Advanced Development Territory are implementing projects on the site, four applications are under consideration in the KRDV and two more are being prepared for submission.

According to Yakutova, investors are oriented towards the active implementation of the announced projects in order to complete the main construction and installation work during the 2023-2024 construction season.

“Firstly, in this case, the commissioning of projects will be linked to the timing of the launch of the new international terminal of Yelizovo Airport, which is being built with the support of the ASEZ regime, and is scheduled to be put into operation at the end of next year. Secondly, in 2025 we expect an increase in the flow of tourists to the peninsula and should be as ready as possible to accommodate a large number of guests. In addition, we hope that a sanatorium of federal significance will be created at the Zelenovskie Ozerki site, which will attract people from all over Russia for treatment, ”said the representative of the KRDV.
