Ecotourism in Crimea aims to preserve the environment
A TAP Portugal Airbus was grounded at Ponta Delgada Airport in the Azores from November 13-17 due to a rather unusual stowaway situation: 132 hamsters had escaped their crates in the cargo hold. Aviação TV reported the incident.
The aircraft, en route from Lisbon to Ponta Delgada, was carrying passengers, their luggage, and a shipment destined for a pet store, including over a hundred hamsters, ferrets, and birds. Upon arrival, ground crew discovered that the hamster crates had been damaged, allowing the small rodents to roam freely within the plane.
For four days, ground crews worked diligently to capture the escaped hamsters. Safety concerns prevented the plane from returning to Lisbon until all the hamsters were accounted for. The Airbus finally landed in the Portuguese capital on Sunday, November 17.
