By the summer season, they will decorate more than a hundred flower beds in the resort.

The main colors of the upcoming summer season in Sochi will be orange and pink; the compositions will contain many combinations of different textures. In addition to the traditional species for the city, this year for the first time there will be angelonia, scaevola and petchoa, resistant to hot climates.

«The planting of the flowers was delayed this spring due to cold weather. Preparatory work is underway now. Landscapers are clearing flower beds, dividing and replanting heavily overgrown perennials,» said Alexander Mamlai, Director of the Department for Environmental Protection, Forest Park, Agriculture and Industry of the Sochi Administration.

The main flower bed in front of the stele of Michael the Archangel on Kurortny Avenue will also change. It will be decorated with perennial shrubs, ornamental trees and flowers. The final "flower" beds in Sochi will be completed by mid-May.
