The XIV Balkan International Wine Competition (BIWC) will take place at the end of May in the city of Naousa, northern Greece. During the forum, an international conference "Balkan Wine 2040 — Vision and Prospects" will be held. It is planned to discuss topics related to climate change and the challenges of wine production in the Balkans.
The symposium will also cover issues of positioning Balkan wines on the international stage, the role of marketing in promoting Balkan wine products, as well as the strategy for developing wine tourism as a tool to expand the hospitality industry.
During the conference, master classes will be organized, designed for both professionals and wine enthusiasts. All forum participants, as well as residents and guests of the city of Naousa, will have the opportunity to taste original Balkan wines. And the competition jury, consisting of leading world oenologists, will determine the winners of the XIV Balkan International Wine Competition, who will receive prizes and gifts.
The organizers of the symposium hope that Balkan winemakers will have the opportunity to present their products to market professionals, sommeliers, and enthusiasts, as well as create a basis for establishing connections and developing interaction to improve the level of winemaking in the region.
