The portal "Interfax-tourism" reported with reference to the press secretary of the governor of the region Dmitry Lyskov that the idea to develop this route was put forward by the tourist community of the Kaliningrad region.

There are many historical sites in the region, which, despite being popular with visitors, are not yet included in tourist routes. The "Gothic ring" will include ancient castles, churches and fortresses built in past centuries. Some of them are now in good condition. Others are partially destroyed. However, these buildings can trace the development of Gothic and neo-Gothic architecture.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the region plans to support this project.
