France received 100 million foreign tourists in 2024, retaining the status of the most popular tourist destination in the world, but lost to Spain, which took the second position with 94 million visitors, in terms of income from their stay.
Despite the fact that France was visited by two million more travelers than in 2023, tourism revenue amounted to 71 billion euros against 126 billion for Spain.
France's tourist revenues increased by a total of 12% over the year thanks to buyers from Belgium, England, Germany, Switzerland and the USA. The number of tourists from China still does not exceed 40% of the pre-pandemic 2019 level.
