France hopes to receive 50 million foreign tourists this summer, mainly from Europe -Germany, Holland and Belgium, French secretary of state for tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne said.

In the summer of 2020, 35 million travelers from abroad visited France, compared to 90 million in 2019.

As for the "distant" international tourist clientele, according to the secretary of state, despite the fact that US citizens have started visiting France again since June, the country of wine and cheese will not see tourists from Asia until 2022.
Meanwhile, in the context of the pandemic, most French people prefer to spend their holidays at home. In 2020, 94% of French holidaymakers made such a decision, and this year their number is expected to reach about 85%.
