A number of Russian regions have a good potential to attract guests interested in gastronomy, Rostourism says.
“We want to see five to 10 regional destinations appear in Russia that would specialize in gastronomy as a separate tourist experience. There are enough regions in the country that can do this. We have powerful regional teams,” said Yulia Rybakova, adviser to the head of the department, at the opening of the street gastronomic site “From the Arctic to the Far East” in Vladivostok.
Her words are cited in the message of Rostourism.
The event organized by the department within the framework of the forum “Gastronomic tourism in the Russian Federation. New Opportunities”, was held on September 23-25. During this time, the gastro site was visited by over 20 thousand people.
The event was attended by tourists from other cities of Primorye, as well as from the Khabarovsk Territory, the Amur Region, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yakutia.
“In three days, the chefs spent 24 hours preparing food. The most diverse and unique dishes were presented for selection, restaurateurs from other regions brought hundreds of kilograms of meat delicacies with them, local chefs distinguished themselves by an abundance of seafood delicacies, where top dishes from scallops deserve special attention, and the chefs also developed a menu based on unique wild plants. in the message of Rostourism.
Each participant offered their culinary “calling cards” for testing - Buryat buuzas, pancakes with sultanas, fern pies, Yakut syp-sap potatoes, Karelian pastries, reindeer moss chips, pyanse, zaeburikha, dirstroganoff, fisherman's slice, etc.
“According to the estimates of the organizers, 23,872 portions of food and drinks were sold in three days, which is 5.7 tons of regional cuisine and 1,604 liters of drinks. It is important to note that the dishes that were included in the menu of the participants were precisely regional,” the Rostourism noted.
