Few international tourists are visiting Morocco despite the re-opening of borders by the North African country early this month.
Morocco's air borders reopened on 7 February.
AFP quoted Halima Bousekkaoui as saying that she had been ready for tourists to stay at her guesthouse but no one is coming.
She said her guesthouse used to employ six members of staff but this has been reduced to two.
"We have deteriorated a lot due to rising debts, we are no longer able to pay the salaries of employees, we are saving a lot to reduce the buildup of debts, unfortunately, debts rise every time," said Bousekkaoui.
Morocco received 13 million tourists in 2019, however this dropped to about 4 million in 2021 due to COVID-19.
The tourism sector in Morocco was directly responsible for around 500,000 jobs and contributed $8 billion to the economy before the pandemic.
