The Association of Health Tourism and Corporate Health has completed work on the VII annual rating of investment attractiveness "TOP-100 Russian health resorts". The composition of the rating for the past year has been updated by 30%, while the majority of sanatoriums participate in it constantly.
“According to the results of 2021, the TOP-100 health resorts showed an increase in rating indicators not only compared to 2020, but also the pre-Covid 2019, which in itself was a record year in terms of indicators for the previous decade,” Rostourism reports on its website.
As noted in the department, today sanatorium-resort rest is one of the most promising areas for the development of domestic tourism.
“The results of the travel cashback program, which we have been implementing since 2020, confirm this. All new sanatoriums are actively participating in the program, which indicates the demand for health tourism among Russians, ”said Elena Lysenkova, deputy head of Rostourism, whose words are quoted in the message.
“The widespread opinion that sanatoriums are more suitable for older people and children is already in the past. More and more young people are looking for quality rest. And an annual trip to a good sanatorium is the most effective solution for such tourists,” she said.
According to Lysenkova, they now have numerous health programs at their disposal. However, the sanatorium, as well as the hotel infrastructure, requires renovation and renewal, she believes.
“This year we have selected nine projects in a sanatorium complex with 2,827 rooms as part of the concessional lending program. Today, more and more sanatoriums are being classified as hotels, their service is reaching a new level. The rating of investment attractiveness of sanatoriums is the best evidence of the successes achieved," the Deputy Head of Rostourism emphasized.
Elena Trubnikova, Chairman of the Association for Health Tourism and Corporate Health, said that for the first time since the rating was held, the sanatorium and resort industry of the Russian Federation has become profitable, earning 6.1 billion rubles in conditions of an average capacity utilization of 42.1%.
“This is a direct confirmation of the growing potential of the health tourism industry and increasing its investment attractiveness,” she said.
The rating is published on the website of the Federal Tourism Agency.
