Investments in Egypt’s tourism and antiquities sector are expected to rise 64% in the fiscal year 2021/22, according to the country’s minister of planning and economic development expects
The Arab news quoted Hala El-Said as saying that the investments will reach about 8.5 billion Egyptian pounds ($540 million) compared to 5.2 billion Egyptian pounds in the fiscal year 2020/21.
The tourism sector’s GDP share is projected to expand to 91.4 billion Egyptian pounds in the next fiscal year, compared to 69.5 billion Egyptian pounds, a year earlier.
Tourism had been on a recovery path this year in Egypt after it was hit last year by the COVID-19 pandemic.
