“With this launch, we want to remind how much we depend on the environment, inspire participants to take care of it, and also draw attention to the environmental agenda and the state of water bodies. Every year there are more and more caring and active people,” the event page on the Russia Running platform says.
The organizers of the eco-marathon promise the participants a picturesque route that will run "along the most beautiful streets of the city, under palm trees, along the sea and rivers."
As the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia reported on its website, more than 600 people have already registered for the eco-marathon.
The event is organized by Rosvodresursy.
“Rivers Run” is a series of environmental races designed to draw attention to the issues of careful attitude to water resources, their rational use along with the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia noted.
In 2020, the race was held in Dubna near Moscow, in 2021 - along the Upa River in Tula.
