The first day of the Siberian Perspective Eco-Summit, organized by Norilsk Nickel with the support of the National Council for Corporate Volunteering, the Association of Russian Managers and the Zapovednoye Embassy charitable foundation, kick-started today. The summit is being held in Krasnoyarsk in the Bobrovy Log fun park on October 1-2.
On the agenda were issues such as biodiversity conservation and the role of corporate volunteering.
The participants of the event exchanged experience in the conservation of biodiversity in the framework of business development.
Stanislav Seleznev, Vice President of Norilsk Nickel, spoke about the role of industrial companies in environmental preservation.
“Business must learn to be as neutral as possible on biodiversity. We must do our best to support biodiversity. For this, the company has developed an ambitious environmental strategy for ten years,” he said.
As a reminder, Norilsk Nickel has identified six key areas in the field of environmental protection and set targets to be achieved by 2030.
