A powerful earthquake struck Asia. The epicenter of the disaster was Myanmar, where the tremors reached 7.7 on the Richter scale. After half an hour, aftershocks began, reaching 6.4 in magnitude.
Thailand was also affected, where an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 was recorded. There is no tsunami threat after the earthquakes.

In Thailand, a skyscraper under construction collapsed as a result of the tremors, killing several workers, with dozens more remaining trapped under the rubble as rescuers try to reach them. 90 people who were at the site at the time of the collapse are missing.
