A powerful earthquake struck Asia. The epicenter of the disaster was Myanmar, where the tremors reached 7.7 on the Richter scale. After half an hour, aftershocks began, reaching 6.4 in magnitude.

Thailand was also affected, where an earthquake of magnitude 7.4 was recorded. There is no tsunami threat after the earthquakes.

There are already at least 20 reported deaths, and more than 300 people have been injured. According to tour operators, there are currently no centralized tour groups from Russia in Myanmar, but there may be Russians traveling independently.

According to preliminary data, a road bridge in Myanmar was completely destroyed, and several buildings collapsed, including a 19th-century temple in Mandalay.

In Thailand, a skyscraper under construction collapsed as a result of the tremors, killing several workers, with dozens more remaining trapped under the rubble as rescuers try to reach them. 90 people who were at the site at the time of the collapse are missing.

A state of emergency has been declared in the country, and the airport and metro in the capital, Bangkok, were temporarily suspended. Later, the airport returned to normal operation, and all flights are currently operating as usual.

Up to two thousand Russian tourists may be in Bangkok at this time, and no information about injured Russians has yet been received.
