The international cultural and sports event "Altai Regatta. Dragon Festival" will be held at the Barnaul Rowing Canal on June 29-30. More than 400 rowers from different countries will take part. They will compete on "dragons" - large canoes with a dragon's head and tail and a drummer in the bow who sets the rhythm for the rowers.

Boat races will be held at distances of 200, 500 and 2000 meters. This was reported on its website by the Altai Territory Department for Tourism and Resort Activities.

In addition to the races themselves, the organizers have prepared a rich cultural and entertainment program for the participants and spectators.

"Altai Regatta. Dragon Festival" welcomes guests with a rich program not only on water and land, but also in the air. For two days, the sky over the rowing canal will turn into a bright canvas when a whole flock of kites will soar upwards - an open festival of air kites will be held on the beach," the message says.

In addition, within the framework of the holiday, a carnival "SUPryazhenie" will be held - participants in extravagant costumes will walk on the water on SUP boards. They can decorate not only themselves, but also the board.

A bright program dedicated to the celebration of Youth Day is planned on the beach. There will be activities for children and adults, sports games, an all-Russian family fishing festival with the launch of fry.

The best creative groups of the Altai Territory, the Vladimir Kislov group, and invited guests from other cities will perform on the main stage. The program includes fire, drum and water shows, as well as the Miss Altai Regatta beauty contest. 10 participants will reach the final, who will accompany the teams of athletes.

And the speed dating zone will help you make new friends. You can also send a postcard from the festival site to anywhere in the world.

"Participants of the animation zones will be given "game currency" - little dragons, which can then be exchanged at the shop for branded products. The organizers have prepared more than 20 animation points and more than 1000 prizes," the department said.

Overall, the Altai Regatta. Dragon Festival is a great event that will help to popularize water sports and attract tourists to the Altai Territory.
