(Rough&Polished) - Elena Sharoikina, Chairman of the Commission on Ecology and Environment of the Russian Federation Civic Chamber, congratulated everyone on the Constitution Day of the Russian Federation, and opened the conference following the results of the Large Scientific Expedition to study biodiversity in the regions where Norilsk Nickel operates.

Noting in her opening remarks that, according to the Constitution, the duty of Russian citizens is to preserve nature and the environment, she stressed that this is also the duty of big business. According to her, such discussions should become an example for large, medium and small businesses, since everyone can be socially responsible - there is such a thing as corporate citizenship.

“I am very pleased that one of our key events is dedicated to Norilsk Nickel and the Siberian Branch of the Academy of Sciences, which this year held a large scientific expedition to study biodiversity,” said Elena Sharoikina, noting that Nornickel can rightly be considered a co-organizer, more precisely, a co-author of this study.
