Popular budget airline EasyJet is set to bring back flights to Enfidha, near the resort town of Hammamet, in Tunisia in May ahead of the peak summer holiday season.
Tourism in the north African country has recovered since the Arab Spring in 2011 and two terrorist attacks on tourists in Tunis and Port El Kantaoui, near Sousse, according to Lonely Planet.
Tourist arrivals slipped to 5.4 million in 2015.
However, the situation was expected to improve with 9 million visitors believed to have entered the country last year.
Lonely Planet named Tunisia, the smallest country in North Africa, as one of the top 10 best-value countries to visit in 2020.
With more than 1100km of Mediterranean coastline, it has long been known as a sun, sand and sea holiday for Europeans.
The tourism sector contributes to around 14.2% of the GDP and guarantees job opportunities to about 2 million Tunisians.
