This year exhibition of motor home tourism - Mobicar ended on Sunday in Brussels.

More than 700 models of caravans, motorhomes, tourist trucks, as well as accessories and services for mobile camping were exhibited at the Hazel exhibition complex during the week.

Motor home tourism is an alternative type of active rest. The above types of vehicles are now preferred by adherents of individual tourism, seeking freedom of movement and places remote from the areas of mass recreation.

In Belgium, in 2015-2016, sales of caravans increased by 12%, motor homes - by 18%. At the end of the first half of this year, the growth of sales of motor home vehicles as a whole amounted to 10%. Today in the Kingdom there are more than 90 thousand owners of caravans, motorhomes and tourist trucks.

However, the inhabitants of the North and South of Belgium have a different attitude to them. Dutch-speaking Flemings, being more affluent, prefer to buy motorhomes, and less economically prosperous Walloons - caravans. If the cost of a motor home starts from 40,000 euros, the average caravan can be bought for 10,000 euros.

In Belgium, 38 zones for camping are equipped today, of which only one in the territory of the capital of the Kingdom – Brussels, Eco-tourism.expert was told at the Mobicar organizing committee.
