The press service of the Kronotsky Reserve has announced the start of the "month of silence", which will last until June 30. Every year, this nature conservation event is held to minimize disturbance to animals and birds during the breeding season.
"During this period, birds are actively distributing nesting sites, and bears have a "wedding" season. Therefore, the reserve minimizes the number of helicopter flights, suspends noisy economic work, and stops the stay of multi-day tourist groups," - the message says.
Throughout the month, preference will be given to tourist groups that arrive on less noisy helicopters of the Robinson,Eurocopter, Bell and Mi-2 types when issuing permits for stay. In addition, the landing of helicopters in the Uzon-Geyser zone will be allowed no earlier than 13:00 and no more than 1 board at a time.
Among the temporary restrictions are also a ban on an overview sightseeing flight over the Geysernaya River canyon, except in cases of extreme necessity to ensure the safety of people, and a ban on multi-day tourist groups being in the Geysernaya River valley.
"These restrictions help to reduce the factors of anxiety for animals during an important period for them of recovery from winter and reproduction," the press service emphasized.
This is an important measure to preserve the unique nature of the Kronotsky Reserve. Thanks to the "month of silence", wild animals will be able to breed and raise offspring in peace.
