The press service of the Losiny Ostrov National Park announced the start of vaccination of wild animals against rabies. Briquettes with the drug are placed in forest parks where carnivores live.

The report notes that the vaccine does not have healing properties, but forms immunity to a dangerous disease. Briquettes are safe for all types of animals. However, experts do not recommend picking them up and ask that pets not be allowed to chew them.

Briquettes have already been placed in the Losionoostrovsky and Yauzsky forest parks in Moscow, as well as in the Shchelkovsky and Alekseevsky forest parks in the Moscow region. Employees of the veterinary services of the Eastern Administrative District of Moscow and the Moscow Region, as well as foresters from Losiny Island took part in the work.

The report notes that for more than 10 years, veterinarians have not recorded cases of infection from wild animals on the territory of the national park.
