The press service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Moscow region has announced that the International Apple and Book Festival will take place in Kolomna on September 7 and 14. This unique event will combine literature, gardening, art, music, theater, and gastronomy.
This year’s festival theme, "Treating with the Garden," draws inspiration from an old expression that evokes leisurely walks, enjoying beautiful views, inhaling the scents of blooming plants, finding tranquility, reading books, and engaging in philosophical musings. The idea is to present the garden as a delicacy to be savored. Organizers hope this unusual theme will deepen attendees' exploration of historical roots and gardens in a broad sense.
The main program will unfold in the historic part of Kolomna on September 7, with a more intimate format continuing in the Park of Peace on September 14. The "Open Literary Studio" stage will feature renowned authors discussing best-selling non-fiction. Additionally, there will be presentations of new book releases in the "Publishing Pavilion" and meetings with children's publishing houses, along with "music on the grass," concerts in parks and along the riverside, and tastings at a slow-food market. A book market and a children's market will also be available.
In the courtyard of the museum-residence "Art Kommunalka. Erofeev and Others," a "city lunch" will take place. Guests will be treated to fruits from local gardens, learn about traditional jam recipes, and even get a chance to make their own. The city streets will host performances for both children and adults, focusing on relationships that must be nurtured to bear fruit. The musical program will feature a diverse array of melodies, from folk to orchestral music.
