The press service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Moscow Region announced that a unique route-journey through Zvenigorod has been developed for the 165th anniversary of the birth of the writer Anton Chekhov. It is available to everyone on the izi.TRAVEL platform of street and museum audio guides.
Zvenigorod is one of Chekhov's places in the Moscow region. The writer first visited here in 1881. From 1884, as a young doctor, he received patients in this city and collected materials for his works. In Zvenigorod, Chekhov found topics for the stories "In Court", "Siren", "Examination for the Rank", "At the Autopsy" and "The Dead Body".
The route includes places where the classic lived and worked as a doctor, as well as where he liked to relax. It starts from the library building and passes through the old streets of Zvenigorod. Thanks to the audio guide, tourists will learn about the connection between the Raspberry Ravine and Chekhov's favorite jam, how the future writer as a student almost got arrested, where the pharmacy was located and what unusual nicknames his dogs had.
