An amusement park dedicated to cartoon characters shot by the Japanese animation house Studio Ghibli will open on November 1 in Japan.
The complex is located in the heart of a vast park in Aichi Prefecture, about 300 km west of Tokyo. The project cost is $373 million.
According to the studio's directorate, the park will be divided into thematic zones based on the anime "My Neighbor Totoro", "Princess Mononoke", "Witch Delivery Service" and "Walking Castle".
Studio Ghibli was founded in 1985 by the legendary director Hayao Miyazaki, who received the Academy Award for Best Animated Film in 2002.
For fans of the anime universe, the Ghibli Museum has already been opened in Tokyo, tickets to which are sold out in just a few hours.
