The weight of lots of "live" cargo accepted for air transportation at Moscow Domodedovo Airport reached about 240 tons in 2022.
The leading positions in the frequency of air travel were taken by fish, including tropical and aquarium - 42% of the total weight. Birds, including chickens, chickens, falcons, parrots and a hawk owl, again accounted for 26% of the total weight of transported animals.
The share of fluffy pets exceeded 11% of the total volume of animal transportation.
Last year, such exotic animals as chinchillas, kangaroos, foxes, as well as live plants — corals - were seen among the special cargo.
In addition, Domodedovo Cargo met Dixon bear and little lynx, who were brought to Moscow for rehabilitation.
The cargo terminal of Domodedovo Airport has a room for temporary accommodation of transported animals, which meets all requirements and standards.
Also specialists of the veterinary control service are working around the clock to service the "live" cargo in the terminal, the press service of the DME reported.
