The Albanian authorities have decided to change the direction of the tourist flow towards the agricultural sector. To this end, the country is introducing significant tax incentives for 500 agritourism enterprises. The government has decided to abolish taxes on business profits, small businesses, infrastructure and property for enterprises operating in the field of rural tourism. The goal of such unprecedented benefits is to create centers of sustainable tourism and entrepreneurship in Albanian villages.
"This is not just about reducing taxes - it's about creating a completely new economy. We are helping local farmers and business owners to succeed in the global tourism market," the government believes. Additional funds will be directed to improving infrastructure, improving service quality and enhancing marketing.
According to the authorities, the provided tax incentives should motivate people to invest in rural communities and improve traditional approaches in the hospitality sector. Experts also consider this an important step that can radically change the situation in the tourism sector of Albania. The country is becoming a leader in the Balkans in economic transformations, demonstrating attempts to turn depressed agricultural regions into centers of tourist activity.
