During the New Year holidays, the winter tourism potential of the Sakhalin Region was presented at the international exhibition and forum "Russia" at VDNH. They talked about ice fishing, crabbing, snowmobiling, snowshoeing and the Mountain Air ski complex. This is reported by the portal of the governor and the government of the island region.
"Now we are actively talking about our island winter, presenting the main pearl – the "Mountain Air", which attracts tourists with its trails and rapidly developing infrastructure. Our region has something to be proud of, there is something to show," the portal quotes the Minister of Tourism of the Sakhalin region Artyom Lazarev.
Gifts with the symbols of the region and ski passes for "Mountain air" were played at the stand of the island region. The key was the drawing of a trip ticket to the island for two people.
One trip to Sakhalin was raffled off during the opening days of the Russia Exhibition and Forum. The winners have already visited the region, where they tried the most popular winter activities – snowmobile excursions and winter fishing, and also enjoyed the snow-covered views of the island capital.
At the Sakhalin Oblast stand at VDNH, guests can "participate in winter fishing", take photos with a giant crab in a hat and mittens, as well as learn about the tourist attractions of Russia's only island region.
