This was reported by the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (KRDV) on its website.

“At a meeting with the participation of investors, the progress of the implementation of projects in the SEZ of the tourist and recreational type “Baikal Harbor” was discussed: the construction of a hotel, a thermal complex and a Healing Center “Green Flow Baikal”, a multifunctional cultural and business center “Resort Turka” from Baikal Hermitage, natural - a health-improving complex of the 5-star category by the Cosmos Hotel Baikal company, a tourist complex with art objects by the AMAR company, a beach resort "Turklub Molodist" by the Molodist.Baikal company," the report says.

In total, six projects are currently being implemented in the Baikalskaya Gavan SEZ.

In addition, the meeting discussed the development of the Goryachinsk resort.

“For this, existing facilities will be renovated, it is planned to build a dormitory building, a spa complex with outdoor and indoor pools, a restaurant, a universal hall for events, as well as chalets, yurts and landscaping. Investments in the project will amount to more than 1.6 billion rubles," the KRDV said.

The resident of the advanced development territory (TOR) "Buryatia" is expanding the eco-park "Southern Baikal" according to the cluster type by creating a dominant location Cape Captains. Investments in the project will amount to 189 million rubles, the report says.

In addition, an investment project was presented to create a tourist cluster "Sayan" in the village of Vydrino, Kabansky district. The Glorious Sea Port company intends to build a hotel with 200 rooms.

At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister outlined the main requirements that must be observed when implementing investment projects in natural areas in Buryatia.

“First of all, they are connected with the protection of Lake Baikal, with specially protected natural areas. Baikal is a special territory, the only such lake on our planet. Does it need to be set up? Of course you have to. Complexes equipped with all the necessary amenities cause less burden to nature than wild recreation, which leaves behind not very pleasant traces. Our common task is to find solutions that will preserve nature, but at the same time create conditions for the recreation of citizens. We need to find a balance between ecology and investment activity,” said Trutnev, quoted by the KRDV.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, a significant increase in demand for tourist routes within the country is currently recorded. This encourages investors to invest in the industry.

As noted in the message, in 2022 the number of tourists staying in hotels in Buryatia increased by 40%. And in January, the growth was 80% compared to the same period last year.

“The tourist flow has grown significantly, we see that the demand for Baikal is growing, the shortage of supply is colossal,” said the head of the republic, Alexei Tsydenov.
