The press service of the Moscow Region Ministry of Improvement reported that a large-scale arrangement of a recreation area on the banks of the Kolomenka River near the Kremlin has begun in Kolomna. The project won the All-Russian competition to create a comfortable urban environment in small towns and historical settlements.

The first stage of landscaping will cover an area of more than five hectares. It is bounded by the Kolomenka River from the south-east side, by the bridge along Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsii Street in the north-east, the north-western and western parts border on individual residential development along Bolshaya Zaprudnaya Street.

The project will create a new leisure space for people of all ages. There will be a beach and parking on the river bank. The improvement of the active zone is planned. The project provides for the expansion of the beach volleyball zone. Local residents will have a single playground with 4 fields, fenced with a grid.

The territory of the future recreation area is located in the immediate vicinity of the historical center of the city. At the moment, work is underway on the foundation of the road and path network and the construction of trenches for the installation of outdoor lighting systems. In the future, it is planned to install CCTV cameras. Completion of the work is scheduled for next year.
