The spit lying between Lake Oybur and the Black Sea will receive the status of a protected area, as per the Ecology of Russia portal.
Local residents have been seeking conservation status for this area for about two years.
After numerous appeals to the State Duma and the federal government, the Crimean authorities decided to grant the lands to the status of a protected area.
Local authorities have already allocated money for a comprehensive environmental survey of the territory. It is reported that the natural park may be created by the end of 2021.
The estimated area of the protected area will be about 400 hectares.
Earlier it was reported that the construction of a shrimp factory was planned on the territory of Lake Oybur.
The golden beaches of Crimea are considered the "Crimean ves" due to the fine white sand and crystal waters.
