The press service of the Roscongress Foundation reported that the Gold of Ladoga cycling race will be held for the first time from 12 to 20 July. The route will cover eight cities and more than 40 settlements in the Leningrad region and Karelia. Its total length will be 1015 km.
The organizers of the event expect that the cycling race will not only be a holiday for athletes, but will also attract the attention of tourists to Lake Ladoga.
The strongest juniors and men will take part in the race. The start and finish will take place in a festive format at the Igora Drive circuit, which has already become a center of attraction for residents of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
The sixth and seventh stages of the cycling race will be dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the breaking of the siege of Leningrad. The finish of the sixth stage will take place near the Proryv panorama museum, where the cyclists will lay flowers. The seventh stage of the cycling race will begin with "kilometers of memory". Racers will drive along the Road of Life from Osinovets village to the Broken Ring memorial.
Participants discussed the boundary between nature and ecotourism, whether mass visits to unique areas can remain safe, the responsibilities of investors, and how to prepare tourists for visiting specially protected natural areas.
The head of state expressed confidence that the Forum will be held at a high level, and that its results will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia and the expansion of humanitarian and business ties.
