The portrait of Fyodor Konyukhov was made by young coastal artists Tatyana Ermakova, Yulia Lebedeva and Maria Oleinik. It is symbolic that now there are portraits of Fyodor Konyukhov on both sides of the Pacific Ocean - in Vladivostok and Valparaiso.
It took three days to create the image 3 meters wide and 2 meters high. Waves, a seagull, shades of blue, an intricate font that resembles sea knots, and, of course, Fedor's famous captain's cap - all elements and style of graffiti are associated with a marine theme.
“We live on the shore of the ocean, we are perfectly aware of its greatness and power. All the more incredible for us the very idea of spending more than a hundred days in the ocean, challenging both human and technological capabilities,” the artists admit.
“When we found out about the Nova project (Crossing the Pacific Ocean on a solar-powered NOVA catamaran), it seemed to us very interesting, even a little crazy. Such ideas make you think, comprehend, dream, give inspiration for creativity,” added Chilean artists.
“We are glad that our work has found a response from our Russian colleagues. So different in style, both images convey the brightness and internationality of Fedor's ideas. What he is trying to convey to humanity is very important: freedom to be yourself, travel, love for the world and nature.”
