Volunteers of the Clean Arctic project carried out cleaning in the northernmost city of Russia

Ninety volunteers went out to clean the coastal zone of the city of Pevek in the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, the press service of the Clean Arctic project reported. 

The volunteers from Moscow, Novosibirsk and Murmansk regions, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republics of Crimea and Karelia were joined by employees of the floating nuclear thermal power plant Akademik Lomonosov, representatives of the Russian Guard and the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as well as local residents.

They cleared the coastal area of metal and waste left over from newly built sewage treatment plants and the demolition of old buildings. 

During the cleaning, the volunteers collected 40 cubic meters of solid municipal waste and 85.5 tons of scrap metal.
